Every gardener begins with the same hopeful moment: you bring home a beautiful new plant, imagine the harvest or blooms to come, and give it the perfect spot in your garden.

And then… life happens.

Maybe a busy week slipped by and watering was forgotten. Maybe your dog discovered that your pansies made a very comfortable pillow. Perhaps a squirrel hosted a midnight salad bar in your veggie planter. Sometimes the sun is too strong, the weather changes overnight, or our gardening skills are still learning the ropes. Gardening failure is part of the process. The only real failure in gardening is giving up. Which is why we created Whoopsie Daisy Insurance, a fail-friendly safety net for Moana Rewards Members.

Gardening is meant to be joyful, a little messy, and full of learning moments. So, if a plant dies on your watch, don’t give up, just say… Whoopsie daisy.

We believe one gardening mishap shouldn’t end the fun, so we’re here to help you try again. (Ps. The Moana Nursery team has failed more plants than you ever will.)

As a Rewards Member, when you purchase an annual, herb, or vegetable at any Moana Nursery location, it’s covered by our Whoopsie Daisy Insurance. If your plant fails for any reason, within 45 days of purchase, simply bring it (or a photo of the mishap) back and we’ll replace it with a new one, or something similar (of equal or lesser value), at no cost to you.

How it Works:

• If your plant starts struggling—or even fails—don’t stress. Just snap a photo or bring it in to any Moana Nursery location.

• Within 45 days of purchase, we’ll replace your annual, herb, or vegetable with a new plant (of equal or lesser value)—no hassle, no questions.

• No receipt? No problem. As a Moana Rewards Member, your purchase is already in our system.

• This is a one-time replacement per plant, and coverage applies to annuals, herbs, and vegetables only.

Set Yourself up for Success:

• Use the right soil for your plant type

• Place plants where they’ll thrive (sun vs. shade matters!)

• Group with companion plants or others with similar needs

• Feed regularly with a quality fertilizer

• Water consistently, drip irrigation is best when possible

Simply bring your failed plant, or a photo of the ‘mishap’ to any Moana Nursery Cashier, Plant Doctor, or Store Manager and they will find your purchase in our system and set you up with a replacement plant.

No, this program is set up to provide replacement plants, not refunds, vouchers, or gift cards for future purchases.

Yes, a return can be made for any reason within 7 days of any purchase (except discount or final sale items). The Whoopsie Daisy Insurance program extends this period to 45 days for annuals, herbs, and veggies if your plant fails for any reason, we want you to be able to try again!

Yes. Each plant is eligible for a one-time replacement only.

No, since this program is only offered to Rewards Members, we can easily look up your purchase record in our system, no receipt necessary.

Anyone who is a Moana Rewards Member qualifies. Membership is free and comes with additional perks like 40% off gardening tools and gloves, 15% off bird food and more!

Plants are covered for 45 days from the date of purchase made between April- June. For example, if you purchase a plant on June 30, you will be able to claim a replacement through August 14, 45 days from the original purchase date.

This program is designed to give you a second chance. Whether you’d like to try the same plant again or choose something different within the same category (annual, herb, or vegetable), we’ll provide a replacement of equal or lesser value.

Replacements are based on current in-store availability, so if your original plant isn’t in stock, you may choose a similar option from what’s available.
